R.I.P. David Hess
This comes as a complete shock to me as I’m sure it will with most of you. David Hess, an absolute icon in the genre and someone who portrayed a character known as “Krug” in Wes Craven’s Last House On The Left has always left a withstanding impression upon me. His character truly scared me to the bone as with all his characters he portrayed.
It comes with sadness that we report that David Hess has passed away in which the news comes from his official Facebook page when his children recently updated his status with this tragic news.
“It is with great sadness that we have said our last goodbyes to our beloved dad and friend to all. David passed away peacefully last night. The Mad Hessian lives on in his family, friends, and all of his devoted fans. Sing a song in celebration of his life. . . .”
As I’ve mentioned, he helped bring one of cinema’s most notorious characters to life in not just one film but many. His music inspired others as did his acting. Unfortunately I never had the chance to speak to Mr. Hess in person but we have exchanged a few words online and he has always been a gracious and true gentlemen.
So, we here at HM.ca send our deepest condolences to his family and friends in this tragic time. I could list all his films but that still wouldn’t do the man justice, he created such villains that I will never forget and the music has always been beautiful, so David, thank you for the memories.
Please join me in honouring David Hess’ life, I am actually still shocked, R.I.P. David, as a friend and as a fan.
