All The Boys Love Mandy Lane US Release Date!

Despite being a breakout hit at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane never saw a proper U.S. theatrical release.  Given that seven years had pass, I’m sure everyone had thought it would never happen.  However, it looks like Director Jonathan Levine will finally have closure and be able to showcase his directorial debut in the U.S. thanks to Radius-TWC who just picked up the rights to release the film according to Deadline.

Why has it taken so long for this festival darling to reach American theaters?  Well, it all basically comes down to timing.  When the Weinstein Company initially picked up the film for $3.5 million, they decided to sit on it after a poor test screening.  They then sold it to Senator Entertainment US who wanted to make Mandy Lane it’s first big theatrical release.  However, that company crumbled before it could get the film out to theaters.  Mandy Lane then sat in limbo until the Weinstein’s reacquired the film through Radius-TWC, possibly driven by the recent success of Director Levine’s Warm Bodies.

Radius-TWC is looking to release the film in 50 major markets and on VOD this late summer.

Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) is the girl that every hormone driven teenage boy dreams about.  So it’s no surprise that she’s invited to a weekend party at a secluded ranch by a group of high schoolers.  However, as the weekend party rages on, the teens start to mysteriously die one by one.
