AMC is Showing ‘Get Out’ for Free on Presidents’ Day in Select Theaters
Are you one of the few that still hasn’t seen one of my favorite films of 2017? Well, I have good news! If you’re one of the lucky few that gets to have Presidents’ Day off tomorrow you can see “Get Out” for free in select AMC theaters.
To celebrate the film’s one year anniversary and its Oscar nominations, Universal has partnered up to show “Get Out” on Presidents’ Day, February 19th, for free at 7pm across the US. Unfortunately, it’s only playing in about 55 theaters so you’ll want to check the listings on this site to see if it will be playing anywhere near you.
If you’ve somehow missed hearing about “Get Out” here’s a breakdown for you:
In “Get Out” Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and Rose (Allison Williams) are a young mixed race couple visiting Rose’s affluent white family for a weekend of fun. Chris is a little apprehensive about the trip, worrying that Rose’s family may not accept a black man as their daughter’s boyfriend. However, despite some initial awkwardness, Chris finds Rose’s family to be warm and accepting. It isn’t long, though, before Chris realizes that Rose’s parents may have other intentions for him.
The film was directed by Jordan Peele and has received four Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor. So if you want the theatrical experience of seeing “Get Out” again/for the first time I highly recommend checking it out tomorrow. If you’d rather just enjoy it from the comfort of your own home, it’s also available on VOD.
