‘Annabelle 2’ Gets a Release Date

Back in 2013 when I first watched “The Conjuring” I never would have imagined that Annabelle would be such a breakout character.  But here she stands with one successful movie under her belt and now another one on the way.

Warner Bros. has come out today with an update to their 2017 film schedule that includes the addition of “Annabelle 2.”  The sequel to the 2014 hit will arrive on May 19th, 2017.  This will put it in direct competition with the Rock’s comedic take on “Baywatch.”

However, we shouldn’t estimate the box office power of the little doll.  In 2014 “Annabelle” managed to pull in $84 million domestically and over double that world wide.  It’s got a good chance of enjoying that repeat success next year since this year “The Conjuring 2” might refresh everyone’s interest in the Annabelle lore.
