“Annabelle” Spin-Off Begins Production and Adds New Cast Member
When I saw “The Conjuring”, I never would have expected the story of Annabelle to take off like it did. To me, she was an interesting little scare, but I could never have envisioned a whole movie being based around her. And yet, here we are with production on the spin-off film starting this week.
Variety has learned that production on the film will kick off this week in Los Angeles. But as the cameras start to roll, one more cast member has been added to the fray. Alfre Woodard (“12 Years a Slave”) has been added to a cast that includes Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, Eric Laden, and Brian Howe.
“Annabelle” is being directed by John Leonetti who originally did the cinematography on “The Conjuring.” However, he has directed other films like “The Butterfly Effect 2″ and “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation”. Production is currently using a script written by Gary Dauberman whose credits include “Blood Monkey”.
