‘Are You Afraid of the Dark’ is Getting a New Miniseries
We may soon be living in an “Are You Afraid of the Dark” renaissance. If you were an ’80s/’90s kid growing up on Nickelodeon, you probably encountered a little series known as “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” which centered on a group of kids, named the Midnight Society, telling scary stories to each other. It was one of those shows that was definitely for kids, but had a harder edge to it that made you feel like you were watching something that didn’t treat you like a kid.
In 2017 we learned that the classic series was going to be revived as a movie by “It” writer Gary Dauberman. However, it looks like that won’t be the only way we’ll be experiencing the Midnight Society again.
The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that Nickelodeon was going to reboot “All That” along with a plethora of other Nickelodeon shows. At the very end of the report they revealed the biggest bit of news: Nick is currently working on a miniseries set to be released around October in time for the aforementioned movie.
No word on how long the miniseries will be or if it’ll lead into a more standard series, but I have to imagine if it’s well received there’s always a possibility they could develop it more.
