Ash Vs. Evil Dead to Feature Half Hour Episodes
Am little while back it was announced that Starz would be continuing the Evil Dead franchise in the form of a TV series entitled Ash Vs. Evil Dead. Since then we have learned that Ash will not be alone as he will be accompanied by two other characters and we did hear that the episodes would be an hour long. Well, that may not be the case anymore.
The series is also reuniting executive producer/director Sam Raimi, executive producer Rob Tapert and executive producer/star Bruce Campbell.
With the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour underway, IGN caught up with Starz head Chris Albrecht as he spoke a little about Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
In regards to the show featuring half hour episodes, Albrecht responding with;
The half hour idea was their idea. And I can tell you it’s a chock-full half hour.
They then go on to reveal that the series will be filmed in New Zealand;
Rob Tapert, who is the heart and soul of that hands-on producing team, makes his home there and we shot Spartacus there and there are great production teams there. We’re looking forward to being down there and flying talent back and forth.
And finally, when will the TV show hit?
I think most likely it will be fourth quarter [of 2015]. End of third quarter, fourth quarter, something like that. We’ve got a lot of shows this year. We’re very, very excited.
So there you go. Let us know if you’re looking forward to the TV show?
