Bates Motel Stays Open for Second Season
Given how big of a hit Bates Motel has been for A&E, it should come as no surprise that the network has gone ahead and renewed the series for a second season. Set to debut next year, season two will feature ten episodes. While that may seem to be a pretty paltry number, remember: quality over quantity. I’d rather have ten really strong episodes than 16 mostly strong ones.
“‘Bates Motel’ has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first few weeks,” said Bob DeBitetto, prexy and g.m. of A&E Network and BIO Channel. “With superb writing and exceptional acting…we’re excited to see where Carlton and Kerry take Norma and Norman Bates next.”
And while the Bates Motel team starts to think about the second season, we still have four more episodes to go this year, including tonights episode “Trust Me.”
