Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch Return for Independence Day 2
The march to “Independence Day 2” moves forward as director Roland Emmerich continues to assemble his cast. So far we’ve seen the return of old favorites like Jeff Goldblum and Vivica A. Fox as well as an injection of new blood like Jessie Usher and Liam Hemsworth. The latest casting news sees the return of two more memorable characters.
Roland Emmerich announced via Twitter that both Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch would be returning to reprise their respective roles. Pullman originally played President Whitmore while Hirsch played the extremely Jewish father of Jeff Goldblum’s character.

With the newest sequel still over two years away, I wonder who else they’ll be bringing back for the sequel. Personally, I’m holding out hope that somehow Harvey Fierstein’s character survived the massive fireball. Honestly, I just want Harvey Fierstein in more movies. Anyways, while I dive into my Fierstein collection, why don’t you enjoy the most patriotic speech ever delivered on film:
