Bruce Campbell Talks Army of Darkness Sequel!
Earlier this month, Sam Raimi announced his intent to resume script work on Evil Dead IV with his brother Ivan in the summer. Prior to the SXSW premiere of the new Evil Dead remake, director Fede Alvarez told the audience that a sequel to his remake is already being written.
Just days ago it has been revealed by Raimi buddy/co-producer Rob Tapert that there was never an intention to make Evil Dead IV. However, there IS intention to make Army Of Darkness II.
Tapert chatted with Comingsoon.net at the festival, correcting the previous news story.
“Everybody calls it ‘Evil Dead 4’ but ‘Army of Darkness’ wasn’t called ‘Evil Dead’ anywhere except by the fans.”
During the same Q&A session, Bruce Campbell gave his two cents:
“Sam threatens this every six months.” “I’ve heard this a thousand times, because in the back of his mind, he never wants to let go, because he loved making these movies. We all loved making them together. They were a nightmare to make, very difficult, but they lasted the test of time, so he’s not going to let that go, and I’m never going to say ‘no.’ It’ll be me and a walker fighting some other old guy. But that’s what he does and who knows? It may happen.”
Are you game to see Bruce Campbell reprise his role in Army of Darkness 2?
