Check out the Trailer for NBC’s Dracula
Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but I don’t remember hearing anything about NBC producing a Dracula series and yet…here we are with a trailer.
Over the weekend NBC announced that they would be picking up Dracula to air on Fridays during the fall. This new series comes from the minds behind The Tudors and Downton Abbey and stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the titular vampire. However, this isn’t a straight adaptation of the original Bram Stoker book. The creators of the series have instead put their own twist on the Dracula mythos, which you can read about below:
It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Check out the trailer below, but remember, it’s not your traditional Dracula. Given the pedigree of the people involved though, it still looks like it’ll be worth a watch. Let us know what you think!
