Chris Carter Has an Idea for a New ‘Millennium’ Series
Hot off the successful revival of the “X-Files”, fans have started to wonder if another ’90s classic might make a grand return.
Chris Carter, who created “X-Files” and “Millennium”, has never shied away from admitting that he’d like to revisit his two most successful shows. This year he finally got the chance to bring “X-Files” back, so now the question becomes: will “Millenium” get a shot at redemption as well?
At this point it doesn’t look like Fox has any intentions of doing a new “Millennium” series, but if they should ever show interest, Chris Carter has a plan in mind. During an interview with Den of Geek, Carter opened up about the possibility of Frank Black returning to television. Here’s what he had to say:
Right now we’re so focused on [The X-Files] that there are no talks about doing anything else. I can tell you, there is a constant drumbeat to bring back Millennium and I’m just always so taken by that, also that hardcore group of fans out there who would like to see it back. I have ideas how it might come back but, it’s really, once again, it’s a Fox show. They own it. It’s really up to them whether or not they would ever want to go down that road.
I know as recently as a couple of years ago Lance Henriksen, who played Frank Black on “Millennium”, was still interested in reprising the role. So if it were to come together, it sounds like the most critical piece of the puzzle would be game for more diabolical plots.
