Comic Con Banner for Oldboy
FilmDistrict have just released a brand new banner for Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy. When the first poster was released I was not impressed at all. But after the red band trailer was released it eased my worries a little bit. I’ve learned to never look forward to a remake. It is best to just go in with low expectations and be surprised.
The film is being directed by Spike Lee and stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley. ”Oldboy” is written by Mark Protosevich, who previously worked on “Thor” and “I Am Legend.” The film is, of course, based on the 2003 korean film of the same name which was directed by Park Chan-wook. Both films are based upon a manga series that was released in 1996. It hits theaters on October 25th.
Synopsis: Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
