“Conjuring” Producers Take on Recent Exorcism Story
The producers of “The Conjuring” are heading back to the world of ghosts and demons with a story that is actually ripped from the headlines.
Last month the story of a family plagued by a demonic force made national headlines when the allegations of supernatural activity were either witnessed by or confirmed by police officers, Child Protective Services, and hospital staff. Whether true or not, it was a pretty wild story and it seems ripe for a horror movie adaptation.
Evidently Evergreen Entertainment and Tony DeRosa-Grund felt the same way as they have obtained the rights to Father Michael Maginot’s account of the events. Father Michael was the man who stepped in to perform the exorcism on the young child supposedly possessed by spirits.
They’ve got the basis for an interesting contemporary horror story, now lets see if they can gather the right talent to bring it to life.
Side note: Apparently “Ghost Adventures” host Zak Bagans has purchased the home where the supernatural activity took place. It’s being called the “portal to hell” which, by my count, makes it the billionth portal to hell to exist on earth. Seriously, can’t people think of a better name? How about Waystation of Woe? Or Doorway to Damnation?
