Creepy New Julianne Moore Poster For ‘Carrie’ Remake
So far this year many Horror fans have been disappointed due to films that were supposed to be in the Spring line-up being pushed back. Many had anticipated seeing the Carrie remake from Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce, however it has recently been pushed back to October which is a much more appropriate release date for Horror movies.
The October release date could also possibly set up award contention for Chloe Moretz who will star as Carrie, and Julianne Moore who will play Carrie’s loony mother Margaret White. Most of us are familiar with Julianne Moore as the replacement for Clarice Starling in Hannibal. For the first time since the films’ announcement, Mrs. Moore now appears on her own poster for the movie as a companion for the first teaser poster.
Personally, I think that this poster looks very cool with the contrast of the black and white plus her red eyes, but the best part of the poster in my opinion is the text that says “GOD WON’T HELP YOU.” Just those 4 words gets me excited to see how this film turns out.
Here’s the new, officially fan-made poster created by myrmorko via deviantArt, for Kimberly Pierce’s ‘Carrie‘ from Reel Scoop:
Kimberly Peirce directs this new adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie novel, with a screenplay written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is also a writer and producer of Glee and Big Love. Chloe Moretz of Kick-Ass, Let Me In, and Hugo, stars in the film which is about a sheltered high school girl who unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after she is pushed too far by her peers and her unstable mother Margaret played by Julianne Moore.
The film also stars Judy Greer from 13 Going on 30, and Portia Doubleday who was in Youth in Revolt. ScreenGems finished shooting Carrie early last year, and plans to release the remake in theaters everywhere starting on October 18th, 2013.
