CW Orders Pilot for iZombie
No, it’s not the latest Apple product and it isn’t a show about how humans have become enslaved by their electronic devices. It’s a cop drama with zombies and Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars”) is bringing it to the CW.
The CW Network has greenlit a pilot order for “iZombie”, a TV series adaptation of the Vertigo comic created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred. The comic centers on a med student who is infected with a zombie-like virus that gives her an intense craving for brains. In order to avoid killing humans, she starts a job at a coroner’s office where she has access to all the brains she could want. There’s just one catch: whenever she eats a human brain, she inherits the memories of that person. And while it’s a burden on her mind, it allows her to help the police solve some heinous murders.
Rob Thomas will work on the series along with Diane Ruggiero who collaborated with him on “Veronica Mars.” No word on whether or not Matchbox 20 will provide the intro song. I’m kidding.
