‘Doctor Strange’ Could Recruit Mads Mikkelsen for a Villianous Role
The verdict is still out on just how “horrific” Marvel’s upcoming adaptation of “Doctor Strange” will actually be, but there’s no doubt that the cast they’re assembling for this film is going to be exciting. And if the latest addition comes to pass this could be one of my most anticipated Marvel films.
Variety is reporting that Marvel is trying to draw “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen into it’s Marvel Universe with a role in the upcoming “Doctor Strange” film. It would seem that Mikkelsen would play a villain in the film if he accepted the role. However, which one of Doctor Strange’s many villains is would Mikkelsen play is unknown. I’m rooting for one that won’t be dispatched with after one film. One of Strange’s biggest villains is the demonic entity known as Dormammu, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Mads as Mephisto. Given that he’s a big player in the Marvel universe it’d be interesting to see Mads interact with other heroes outside of Strange.
And while we wait to find out about Mads Mikkelsen here’s who is currently attached to the film. Benedict Cumberbatch is set to play Doctor Strange, Tilda Swinton will be playing the Ancient One, and Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast as Baron Mordo. “Doctor Strange” is being directed by Scott Derrickson (“Sinister”). The film is currently slated for a 2016 release so you can expect to hear more news soon enough.
