Doug Liman is Set to Direct ‘Justice League: Dark’
After going around the dancefloor a few times with director Guillermo Del Toro it looks like “Justice League: Dark” has found itself a new dance partner and a new identity.
Variety has revealed today that director Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow”) will be directing “Justice League: Dark” which is now being called “Dark Universe” for Warner Bros. The film will be written by Michael Gilio who has quite a few scripts optioned in the past, but hasn’t had anything really developed in some time.
If you’re not familiar with “Justice League: Dark”, it’s a comic book series that explored the darker side of the DC universe. The side that dealt with demons and magic. While no plot has been set for the movie, Variety reports that it should be centered “around a dark Justice League team that consists of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon.”
This is where “Constantine” fans get their hopes up that Matt Ryan will get to reprise the role again before getting those hopes unceremoniously dashed. But hey, I’m right there with you. Here’s hoping Matt Ryan gets another shot at the character.
