Drafthouse Films Acquires a Field in England

The distribution branch of the Alamo Drafthouse has just acquired the North American rights to put out Ben Wheatley’s A Field in England.  Ben Wheatley recently directed a segment in ABC’s of Death and his current film, Sightseers, is making the rounds on the festival circuit.

A Field In England follows a group of English Civil War soldiers in the 17th century who are captured by an alchemist and led into a vast mushroom field, where they fall victim to violent and nightmarish forces.

The film stars Julian Barratt, Michael Smiley, Reece Shearsmith and Peter Ferdinando.  It’s expected to hit theaters and VOD here in the states sometime in 2013.
