Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno Will Feature Cannibals

Not so long ago we announced Eli Roth’s return to directing with a project entitled The Green Inferno. As soon as that hit the web a frenzy of speculation began regarding the name and its possible connections to Ruggero Deodato’s Cannibal Holocaust.

While there is still no firm confirmation that The Green Inferno will be related to Cannibal Holocaust, Variety has chimed in with some early plot details which suggests that the film will feature a cannibal tribe.

The site reports, “The Green Inferno follows an idealistic student and a group of naive do-gooders who are captured by cannibalistic Indios after their plane crash lands in the Peruvian jungle.”

Also it appears as if Constantin Film have acquired the German rights to the film with Exclusive Media handling International sales.
