First Look at Carles Torrens’ ‘Pet’ Starring Dominic Monaghan
South By Southwest is coming up in just a few days and we’ll soon be hearing about all sorts of new horror movies coming on the horizon. Today we’re getting a small taste of one and it sounds pretty promising based on who’s involved.
Deadline got their hands on an exclusive clip from the upcoming feature film “Pet” from director Carles Torrens. This marks the second feature film from Torrens who previously directed “Apartment 143.” Personally, I thought that film showed a bit of promise even though the final product was a pretty average found footage film. So I’m interested in seeing what Torrens does with a regular feature film.
“Pets” stars Dominic Monaghan (“Lost”) and Ksenia Solo (“Orphan Black”) in a film written by Jeremy Slater who is also working on the upcoming “Exorcist” series for Fox. Here’s how Deadline describes “Pets”:
A psychological thriller that deals with the themes of identity, loneliness, selflessness and what it means to truly possess another. It’s told through the prism of two isolated people, Seth and Holly, seemingly different yet more similar than they even knew. Pet is at its heart a dark love story which examines how much one is willing to sacrifice in the name of love.
Check out the first clip below and if you’re heading to SXSW you can check out “Pets” this friday during the Midnight showing.
