Fox Dislikes Max Landis’ Chronicle 2 Script

Max Landis’ penned flick Chronicle, certainly put him on the map, it was a great feat, but I’m sure it divided many of you. Either way, it done so well that it warrants a sequel, but unfortunately 20th Century Fox doesn’t see the same vision as Landis when it comes to the sequel.

Recently The Playlist caught up with John Landis who ushered in an update on the sequel;

“He wrote a sequel, and it’s amazing, and the studio read it and said, ‘We want ‘Chronicle’ again!’ And he said, ‘No, this is the sequel, it’s the evolution, and they said ‘No, we want that movie again!’ So it’s difficult, we’re dealing with a difficult business.”

John Landis put it perfectly, this IS a difficult business, and unfortunately many studios won’t fund original ideas, instead relying on rehashing old ones, but who knows how this may turn out.
