Franck Khalfoun Confirmed for ‘Amityville’ Plus First Casting News Announced
Several days ago our friends over at B-D received word that Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) could be directing the latest installment in the Amityville franchise, and today the site has officially confirmed this.
Along with Khalfoun now attached to direct the project for Blumhouse Productions and Dimension Films, they have also announced that Jennifer Jason Leigh (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) has been cast in the film.
But, that’s not all. The Wrap has also got a nugget of casting news as well, as the site reports that Bella Thorn (Home Invasion) has also been cast in the latest Amityville film.
As for plot details, B-D shared this;
Leigh will be playing Joan, a single mother raising three kids all on her own. The family move into the infamous “Amityville” house, only to learn that it has a very dark history.
You guys remember that talk of found-footage? Well, apparently that has been dropped altogether so watch this space for future announcements.
So, what do you guys make of this? Looking forward to more Amityville or do you wish they would put this to bed once and for all?
The film is scheduled for a release this January 2, 2015.
