Friday the 13th Sequel to be Released in 3D?
The speculation around the upcoming addition to the “Friday the 13th” franchise continues once again as a new tidbit of information has been released. For a while now the most persistent rumor surrounding the film has been that it’ll be shot like a “found footage” film. However, the latest news casts some doubt on that.
THR has reported that during Paramount’s CineEurope screening of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” the studio announced that most of their movies being released in the coming years will be in 3D. This includes the upcoming release of the new “Friday the 13th” film. Now, it’s not impossible that they could release a found footage film shot in 3D. In fact, there’s a movie currently in development that is using that angle. However, I can’t imagine that Paramount would want to try something so risky with their horror film.
So was the film incorrectly identified as a potential 3D film? Or does this news eliminate the possibility of the next film being a “found footage” project? It’s still too early to say, but if this turns out to be true, I think it’d be safe to say that the rumor of the film being “found footage” is pretty unlikely.
If you had a choice between the two gimmicks would rather it be 3D or “found footage?” Let us know in the comments.
