‘Geostorm’ Gets a 2016 Release Date
This is the first I’m hearing about this project, but the chosen release date of “Geostorm” is already raising some eyebrows.
“Geostorm” is a new disaster film by writer/director Dean Devlin, the man who is currently writing the sequel to “Independence Day.” Not much is known about this upcoming film other than that Gerard Butler (“300″) is expected to star in it and that it’ll be shot in 3D.
The most surprising aspect about this film, so far, is that it’ll release on March 26th, 2016. Now, if that doesn’t seem significant to you, then you might not have heard that a new “Beverly Hills Cop” movie is due out on the same day. An anticipated sequel will be going up against a big blockbuster extravaganza. I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit more excited about the possibility of Eddie Murphy returning to his 80’s roots.
Obviously, I hope both films turn out to be good, but Warner Bros. is going to have to put a lot of work into “Geostorm” in order to steal away attention from a new “Beverly Hills Cop.”
