Gina Carano Cast as Avengelyne

Gina Carano is going to star in a big screen adaptation of Rob Liefield’s character Avengelyne. Over the weekend Carano and Liefield will be signing posters that feature her as the character. I have been a fan of Carano since her MMA days in Elite XC but I have yet to see her first role in Haywire (It’s in my over 400 movie que on Netflix).

For those of you who have never heard of Avengelyne she was one of the characters that Liefield created when he made the trek over to Image Comics.  She is an angel who is sent to fight demons, monsters and anything else deemed evil. Carano and Liefeld are reconceiving and rebuilding the title into a starring vehicle for Carano, and the movie project is intended to be in the vein of Underworld.

According to THR next week they will be out on the hunt for a writer or writer/director. So it could be a long time before this project sees the light of day. Keep it here because I’m sure that poster she is signing will pop up online soon.
