Godzilla vs King Kong is in the Works at Warner Bros
This is actually happening. Godzilla and King Kong are finally having their long awaited rematch. And it’s all because two movie studio giants decided to work together.
Deadline broke the monumental news today that Universal is allowing Legendary Pictures to move their upcoming Kong film “Kong: Skull Island” to Warner Bros so that all the pieces will be under one roof for an epic battle of titans. Warner Brothers is currently putting together the next “Godzilla” film for 2018, but after that, the studio intends to make a new Godzilla vs King Kong film.
Considering that the sequel to 2014’s “Godzilla” is still three years away I have to imagine that the brawl to end all will be a really long wait for the rest of us. With Warner Brothers releasing “Kong: Skull Island” though, they can now start planting those seeds in the hopes of building up the inevitable conflict.
“Kong: Skull Island” currently has Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston attached along with the possible addition of Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly. The film is currently being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
