‘Grimm’ Cancelled and Set to End After Season Six
This news might not be so shocking if you’re a “Grimm” fan like myself. For one, the last season seemed to be pushing things to a natural conclusion. And secondly, it was announced earlier this year that “Grimm” would be getting a shortened season six. So putting those two things together, it’s not all that surprising to hear that NBC has decided to end the popular fantasy horror show.
NBC made the announcement today that “Grimm” would be coming to an end after the upcoming sixth season. For a while there NBC was trying out different types of horror genre shows to see what would stick and while they found some success with “Hannibal”, the most popular of the bunch seemed to be “Grimm.” So one has to wonder if this will mark the end of NBC attempting to get into the horror genre or if something else will take it’s place.
If you’re wondering how the final season will play out after last years finale, here’s a brief breakdown of things to come from Deadline:
The nefarious forces of Black Claw have been silenced and Nick (David Giuntoli) faces an all too familiar foe in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now in the seat of power as the mayor elect of Portland, Renard is poised to bring rise to his own brand of law and order. Nick must take a stand to protect his city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). It will take the full force of Nick and his allies to find a way to bring the peace.
Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) grapple with bringing a child into a new and tumultuous world, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) faces unsettling identity issues as her former self lurks below the surface.
“Grimm” will premiere on January 6th and will air on Fridays at 8pm. Sadly it’ll be missing it’s usual Halloween premiere date this time around.
