Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters Will Get a Sequel!
Alright, here’s an opinion that isn’t too popular: I actually liked Hansel and Gretel. It was SUPER dumb and a little bit nutty, but at the end of the day, it entertained me. So when Paramount asks “Hey world, would you like some more of that?” I say “Sure, slap a little more Hansel and Gretel on my plate, please.”
Paramount is announcing today that they have decided to move ahead with a sequel to the surprise January hit. While the film didn’t break records, it made $54 million domestically and $150 million overseas. Given that the movie only cost them $50 million to make, it’s easy to see why they would want to try and capitalize on that success a second time.
No word yet on whether or not Tommy Wirkola will come back to helm the picture. There was talk of him doing a Dead Snow 2 some time ago, but I imagine this might prove to be a more lucrative offer.
