Here’s the First Look at ‘The Exorcist’ Series
After years of rumor and speculation, it looks like “The Exorcist” series is finally starting to solidify. At the start of this year Fox announced that they were ordering a pilot for the potential series and just yesterday we learned that Fox has gone ahead and picked it up as a series.
“The Exorcist” pilot was written by Jeremy Slater (“The Lazarus Effect”) and directed by Rupert Wyatt who previously directed “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Here’s the logline as posted by Deadline:
More than four decades after the Academy Award-nominated film solidified itself as the greatest horror movie ever made, The Exorcist returns in series format as a propulsive psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession.
Actors Alfonso Herrera (“Sense 8”) and Ben Daniels (“House of Cards”) have been tapped to play Father Tomas Ortega and Father Marcus Lang respectively. Also attached to the pilot are Geena Davis, Hannah Kasulka, and Brianne Howey. Along with this news comes our first look at “The Exorcist” with the image you can see down below courtesy of Bloody Disgusting. The image features Geena Davis and Alfonso Herrera starring up at something hiding in an attic. Check it out and stay tuned for new details.
