Horror at this Years Dances With Films Festival
After 18 years of operation the Dances with Films Festival is finally old enough to play the lottery. And old enough to be drafted! It’s truly a magical time in a young film festival’s life.
This years Dances With Films features a wide swath of film genres that’ll surely satisfy all kinds of movie enthusiasts. But while films like “The Challenger“, featuring the last performance of Michael Clarke Duncan, are interesting entries we’re here to talk about the horror films being featured this year.
There are five horror films being showcased at this years festival along with a selection of short films that’ll be put on display on Friday May 29th. The Man in the Shadows (World Premiere)
Based on thousands of true stories, a newlywed photographer is stalked by a dark man in a brimmed hat who followers her from her nightmares and into reality. Her life in shambles and sanity slipping, she meets a mysterious man claiming to know the shocking secrets of the Hat Man.

Bad Exorcists (So Cal Premiere)
A trio of awkward teens aim to win a horror festival by making their own movie, but wind up getting their actress possessed in the process. The boys are in for a raucous and hilarious weekend as they try to save the girl and finish the film, all while navigating the treacherous world of high school.
Demons, meet the socially awkward.
21 Days (Los Angeles Premiere) Three filmmakers embark on a paranormal challenge by barricading themselves in a house so haunted, no one has been able to live in more than 21 days, in order to film the supernatural phenomena which presumably occur… but nothing can prepare them for the evil that lies in wait…
All I Need (West Coast Premiere) An insecure young woman must overcome her captor to save her own life, all the while not knowing the sinister reason she’s really being held.
The Horror (World Premiere)
After their parents’ death, Malcolm and Isabel Rademacher travel to Michigan to shutter their family’s lake house for winter. While there, they discover that they aren’t alone and are made to fight for their survival; a fight that will continue long after the violence ends.
