Inner Demons to Make World Premiere at LA Film Festival
Director Seth Grossman’s (“$50k and a Call Girl”) latest film takes a familiar story and adds some interesting twists to create a film I’m looking forward to seeing at this years Los Angeles Film Festival.
“Inner Demons” will be making its World Premiere next month when it debuts on June 13th. The film is directed by Grossman and written by Glenn Gers (“Fractured”). According to the LA Film Fest website, the plot of the film is as follows:
When the teenage daughter of a religious family transforms from A-student into heroin addict, her parents agree to allow a reality TV crew to stage an intervention and tape her recovery. What they don’t know is that she has been taking drugs to deal with the unnatural, evil feelings growing inside her. When she agrees to rehab, with no drugs to suppress what’s inside, the demon emerges.
Exploring the blurry lines between addiction, possession and mental illness, director Seth Grossman refreshes the horror genre with a grounded, layered story of a young girl’s battle against demonic possession. Inner Demons utilizes the reality show format to good effect, opting for minimal but effective special effects that contribute to the film’s mood of gnawing dread that the worst is yet to come.
Lara Vosburgh, Morgan McClellan, Colleen McGrann, Christopher Parker, Brian Flaherty, Kate Whitney, Richard Wilkinson, John Cragen, Susan Ateh, and Ashley Sutton star in the film. No trailer is available yet, but they usually reveal those the closer we get to the films premiere. For more information, be sure to visit the LA Film Fest website.
