J.A Bayona Signs on to Direct ‘Jurassic World 2’
Earlier this year we shared with you the rumor that director Juan Antonio Bayona was in talks to direct “Jurassic World 2.” It’s been nearly four months since we first heard those rumors, but now it looks like things are finally in motion for this bit of news to be confirmed.
It was revealed today that J.A Bayona, who previously directed the spanish horror film “The Orphanage”, has officially signed on to direct “Jurassic World 2.” The news was confirmed today by “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow who officially welcomed Bayona on to the project on Twitter.
The timing would work out perfectly for J.A. Bayona who recently dropped out of the “World War Z” sequel in order to finish up work on his current project “A Monster Calls.” So after he’s finished working on that feature, he should be free just in time to start work on “Jurassic World 2.”
The next installment in the “Jurassic Park” series is expected to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
