Jamie Foxx to Write and Direct Horror Anthology Series
Well I’m pretty surprised at this bit of news. Deadline is reporting that Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx is going to produce, write and direct his very own horror anthology series for the SyFy channel. The five episode series is set to premiere during SyFy’s 31 Days of Halloween event in October of this year.
The series will be in the vein of such programs as Tales From the Crypt and the Twilight Zone and will deal with themes like envy, jealousy and superficiality. Hmm, I wonder if Jamie is drawing from his Hollywood experience. Here’s what he had to say about the show:
This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life,” Foxx said. “Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!
Personally, I never would have pegged Jamie Foxx to have an interest in horror. I’m anxious to see what he brings to the genre. While most probably know him for his comedy, he really is a creative and talented individual. Hopefully this is the first of many things to come from him.
