Jay Ryan to Play Adult Ben in ‘It: Chapter 2’

The casting choices for “It: Chapter 2” have been interesting to say the least.  Aside from Jessica Chastain as Bev, none of these choices have been obvious picks and that has actually resulted in some pretty excellent picks.

For starters we have Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy playing Bill, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stanley.  It’s like they started off casting big leads and then quickly moved to lesser known stars and the latest casting choice continues to drive that trend.

According to Deadline, Jay Ryan has been cast to play the adult version of Ben Hanscom.  Ben, you might remember, was the sweet kid with a love for poetry and New Kids on the Block.

If you aren’t familiar with Jay Ryan, his work in recent years has primarily been on television with shows like “Beauty and the Beast” and “Mary Kills People.”  So this role is a big land for him.

So with six Losers down, that just leaves with us with Mike left to be cast. Given how rapidly the casting news has come recently, I’m guessing we’ll be hearing about that final piece sometime next week. Stay tuned.
