Jessica Alba to “Stretch” with Joe Carnahan

Hold on, let me pat myself on the back for that dumb title.  Okay, here we go.  Director Joe Carnahan is assembling an interesting cast for his next project “Stretch.”  He’s already nabbed Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine, Ed Helms, and Brooklyn Decker.  Now Deadline is reporting that Jessica Alba has been added to the roster.

Carnahan, who directed my favorite scary “non-horror” film “The Grey”, has recruited Alba to star in his next thriller “Stretch.” The film follows a limo driver (Wilson) who picks up a billionaire (Pine) whose instructions get more twisted as the night progresses.

The film is a joint production between Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Production and is set for a release date of March 21st, 2014.  Jessica Alba, meanwhile, will also be starring next year’s Sin City sequel.

Is it just me or does Ed Helms seem like the odd man out in this production? I just can’t imagine him being involved with a serious thriller.
