Jessica Chastain in Talks to Star in ‘IT: Chapter 2’
If this comes to pass, it’ll certainly be the most obvious casting in film history since Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. Last year we learned that Jessica Chastain was interested in the idea of playing the role of Beverly in the upcoming “It” sequel. Now it seems like she may be in official talks.
Variety is reporting that, shockingly, Jessica Chastain is in official talks to play the adult version of Beverly in “IT Chapter 2.” Variety states that it’s all in the very early stages, so there’s a chance that it won’t happen. But come on, it’s gotta happen. It makes too much sense. She’s a great pairing for an adult Beverly based on looks and she has a good relationship with “It” director Andy Muschietti after working with him on “Mama.” So I would be supremely shocked if it doesn’t come to pass.
As for the rest of the Losers Club, it’s anyone’s game. Rumors suggest that the film could start production this summer so we should start hearing the casting news ramp up the closer we get. So far the only returning cast member is likely to be Bill Skarsgard who turned in a fantastic performance as Pennywise.
“IT Chapter 2” will hit theaters on Sept 6, 2019.
