John Krasinski to Direct ‘A Quiet Place 2’ with Emily Blunt Set to Return
I’ve been kind of apprehensive about the idea of a sequel to “A Quiet Place.” While I loved the movie, it ended in a satisfactory way that didn’t leave me wanting a sequel. So when the initial news about a sequel broke and it was unclear in what capacity director/writer/star John Krasinski would be returning I was especially concerned.
However, my fears have been alleviated slightly as today we’ve learned from Deadline that John Krasinski will be returning as a director for A Quiet Place 2.” Krasinski also revealed that the sequel is expected to release on May 15, 2020.
Along with Krasinski’s return Deadline revealed the equally critical return of Emily Blunt. Now we’ll just have to wait and see when and where this movie will start. There’s definitely an exciting way to start the movie right where the first one ended, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they also picked up some time after. I could especially see a time jump being needed as the kids will have undoubtedly aged a bit by the time production starts.
Either way, I’m glad to see the band is getting back together on a second film. I’m still uncertain about returning to the world of “A Quiet Place,” but having the key stars involved again at least gives me more confidence.
