Jurassic World is Getting a Sequel- Release Date and Cast Announced
In one fell swoop Universal has thrown back the cover and revealed that a sequel to “Jurassic World” is coming, when it’s coming, and who it’ll be coming with. This early in the game we don’t know who the entire cast will be yet, but we do know who will be returning for another jurassic disaster.
Universal has announced that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be reunited for a “Jurassic World” sequel set to release on June 22, 2018. That’s a whole three years from now so at least the follow up film won’t be a rush job, but the prolonged release date could also be due to how insanely popular Chris Pratt is now.
Colin Trevorrow, who directed “Jurassic World”, is set to write the script along with Derek Connolly, but there’s no word on whether or not Trevorrow will helm the next film. Like Pratt he could be quite busy in the near future as he’s rumored to be involved in future “Star Wars” films.
So where does “Jurassic World” go from here? Personally the best idea I’ve heard so far is exploring the militarized dino plot thread established in “World.” Just imagine a film called “Jurassic War.” That has potential for some over the top craziness. What do you think? What do you want to see explored in a new “Jurassic Park” film?
