Katherine Waterston Will Star in ‘Alien: Covenant’

Through name changes and shifting schedules we’ve been learning a great deal about Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Prometheus”/”Alien” sequel “Alien: Covenant.”  And now a more concrete aspect is starting to finally take place: casting!

Deadline is reporting that actress Katherine Waterston has signed on to star in Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Covenant.”  Waterston was most recently seen in “Steve Jobs”, “Inherent Vice”, and “Boardwalk Empire.”  So far we don’t know know anything about her role other than that she will be the star and her character’s name is Daniels.

As for the plot of the film Deadline shared the most recent theory, which has yet to be officially confirmed.:

…it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise. But in fact it’s a dark, dangerous world whose the only inhabitant is David (Michael Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

We’ll know soon enough how true this plot is as soon as we start to hear more casting news in the near future. Stay tuned.
