Legendary to Help Bring Dracula to Life
Earlier this year Legendary Pictures ended its relationship with Warner Bros., a pairing that had brought forth such movies as “The Dark Knight Rises”, “Pacific Rim”, and the upcoming “Godzilla.” And while it was sad to see the two entities part ways, Legendary’s next partnership might prove to be just as interesting.
Now aligned with Universal Pictures, Legendary is already jumping into it’s first project with the studio. According to Deadline, Legendary is in talks to help co-finance Gary Shore’s upcoming Dracula film starring Luke Evans. With Legendary traditionally backing big budget summer films, this shows a great deal of support for Universal’s project which opens on August 8th, 2014.
The story centers around a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes a vampire. The film is being directed by Gary Shore and stars Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper, Sarah Gadon, and Zach McGowan
