Lin Shaye Joins the Upcoming ‘Grudge’ Reboot

Not content with dealing with ghosts and demons in the Further, it looks like Elise from “Insidious” is taking on a beast from the east.

Okay, it’s not a crossover event, but actress Lin Shaye has landed a role in the upcoming reboot of “The Grudge” according to Variety. Shaye has a long history of films under her belt, but more recently she’s become famous for playing medium Elise in the “Insidious” films.  No word on who (or what) Lin will be playing in the new film, but she’ll be joining actors like John Cho, Demian Bichir, and Andrea Riseborough.  The film will be directed by Nicolas Pesce who is also writing the script.  Sam Raimi, who directed the previous American remake of the film, will serve as a producer on the project.

While we don’t know much about the project, I have to say that the cast is shaping up rather nicely.  It’s a pretty diverse gathering of talents and I’m definitely intrigued to see what they can do with the “Grudge” series that reinvigorate the film for a modern audience.  Stay tuned as we wait for more details.
