Lionsgate is Planning to Remake the ‘Cube’
Here’s something I didn’t realize, in three years time the “Cube” will be twenty years old. Normally I’d say “has it really been that long?” But in this case I could’ve sworn that the “Cube” was much older than that. In any case, what are you getting for the Cube for its twentieth birthday? I hope it’s a good one, because I hear Lionsgate is getting it a shiny new makeover.
According to THR Lionsgate is pursuing a remake of the 1998 sci-fi horror thriller “Cube.” The original film placed seven people into a giant cube-like structure that was rigged with traps and horrible mechanisms designed to keep them in. The new film will be directed by Saman Kesh who recently released the short film “Controller” which gained him a lot of attention. Kesh is said to be re-imagining the film while keeping the core concept in tact. Helping Kesh re-imagine the story will be writer Philip Gawthorne who has a few television shows to his credit.
What do you think? Is a remake of “Cube” the right way to go? Or would you rather have a new sequel? Let us know below.
