Lionsgate Picks Up XOXO
With social media basically engulfing the world it appears we have fully embraced this digital age, Hollywood has already dabbled in it and it obviously paid off, even the indie flick Catfish involved Myspace. Now Lionsgate has picked up a thriller set in the world of social media.
According to Variety, Lionsgate has acquired Mark Heyman’s (Black Swan) spec XOXO, a thriller set in the world of Facebook.
Darren Aronofsky and Michael London will produce the film throug Protozoa Pictures and Groundswell Productions.
XOXO is described as “Fatal Attraction” for the digital age, story follows an on-the-rise exec who’s engaged to be married but enjoys flirting online. He meets an alluring woman on Facebook and the two begin a virtual relationship, but the protag soon discovers that his Internet romance is seeping into his actual life in a deadly way.”
