Lore Finds a New Director in David Green
Still in it’s infancy stages, “Lore” is struggling to find it’s footing again after losing director Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black). After Sonnenfeld and Warner Bros. Studios were unable to come to an agreement on the film’s budget, the director thought it was best to step back from the project. However, he’ll still remain attached as an executive producer.
So who do you go to after a director like Sonnenfeld leaves your project? The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Warner has made the interesting choice of signing relatively unknown director David Green. Along with a few shorts, Green’s credits include a yet to be released kid film and a series known as “Zombie Roadkill.” All of which makes it difficult to know what to expect from him.
Lore is being written by Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott based on a comic book series of the same name by Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise. The film currently has Dwayne Johnson attached to star, but given his full slate it’ll be interesting to see if he remains that way. According to THR the comic “tells of a secret society of shepherds (they herd monsters) that has long held the line on the encroachment of mythological creatures, and when the succession line is broken in modern days, a woman finds herself shouldering the responsibility to stop the creatures’ return.”
Looks like we need a strong female lead now (unless this is Dwayne’s greatest performance yet), if you’ve read the comic who would you like to see cast?
