‘Machete Kills Again . . . In Space’ Could Still Happen According to Danny Trejo
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I only thought that the “Machete” films were just okay. I think they’re a fantastic idea and loved the original “Grindhouse” trailer, but it just never came together in a way that I really enjoyed. But, hey, that’s just me and I know a lot of people were pretty into them so . . . I’ve got great news for you.
“Machete” and “Machete Kills” both included teaser trailers that hinted to at least two other films including “Machete Kills Again” and “Machete Kills Again . . . In Space.” Given that we haven’t heard much about a possible sequel, it stands to reason if you’re going to get one last shot at a “Machete” movie you have to go with the big one that takes it into space. And, according to Danny Trejo, that could still happen.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Danny Trejo, Machete himself, got to talking about a new “Machete” and he revealed that director Robert Rodriguez and Mel Gibson are still on board.
I’ve already talked to Robert, Robert said: ‘Yeah, I’m putting it together . . . let’s start writing it.’ . . . So I talked to Mel Gibson, I said, ‘Mel, come on, let’s do ‘Machete Kills In Space.’ Mel says, ‘I’m in, I’m ready, tell Robert.’ So now we’re gonna do it, yeah.
So yeah, not a definitive announcement and more like vague interest in still doing another one, but if you’re a fan of “Machete” it’s good to know that some of the core people responsible for it are still eager for a new one. What do you think? Down for a new Machete? Let us know below.
