Matt Bomer Joins ‘American Horror Story’ While Jessica Lange Leaves
It was no secret that this past season of “American Horror Story” would be Jessica Lange’s last, but many fans still held out hope that the actress might possibly return. And if there was to be one last moment for the actress to announce her return it’d be today during the annual PaleyFest appearance of the “American Horror Story” cast and crew where they traditionally make big announcements.
And some announcements were indeed made as it was revealed that Matt Bomer (“White Collar”) would be starring in the upcoming season of “American Horror Story: Hotel.” However, the actor admitted that he didn’t know what sort of role he was playing. Although he was likely being coy as he did playfully suggest that he could be a love interest to Lady Gaga’s character.
Also announced today was the addition of Cheyenne Jackson who previously worked with series creator Ryan Murphy on “Glee” and also starred in “30 Rock.” A show that I’m currently binge watching while I slowly die of Chicken Pox. Jackson also shared that he wasn’t quite sure who his character would be either.
And while the rest of the cast remained silent on who would be returning and who would not, Jessica Lange openly declared that she was done with “American Horror Story.” During the panel she spoke fondly of her time on the show and with the cast and crew and also reflected on the recent passing of Ben Woolf.
Of course, there’s always the possibility of a cameo, but it seems that Jessica’s commitment to move on to other projects is set in stone. So I hope you got all of the Lange you could’ve hoped for in the past four seasons, it’s time for a new sun to rise on “American Horror Story.”
