Michael Keaton Reveals BeetleJuice 2 Update!
We have been waiting for Beetlejuice 2 for some time and Michael Keaton in a recent interview with Rolling Stone has revealed some new details on the project and his involvement.
In the interview he told Rolling Stone;
“I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff until relatively recently,” Keaton said. “I always said that [Beetlejuice] is the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another. Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away, we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.”
Translation: Beetle Juice 2 is a go and he is on board!
The last star to dance around the subject is Winona Ryder, who played the role of Lydia in the original film. While speaking to The Daily Beast, Winona deftly avoided the question of whether or not she’ll reprise her role while also pretty much saying “yes.”
When asked about the project, Winona simply said “I’ve been sworn to secrecy. But it sounds like it might be happening.” Only reason to swear someone to secrecy is if there is actual movement, right? Still, that’s reading between the lines and not the actual confirmation fans have been waiting for/dreading. However, if Winona is back, then I’m certainly thrilled and it’s a good sign that they’re at least getting the right people involved.
Are you as excited as we are for a Beetle juice sequel?
