Mike Dougherty Gives Us a Better Look at Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah in Toy Form
I don’t know about you, but I’m dying to see more of ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ and I absolutely cannot wait until next year. Well, thankfully we’re getting a little somethin’ somethin’ out of Japan this weekend as director Mike Dougherty has given us a better look at the upcoming monsters Godzilla will be squaring off against.
Reddit user /u/ExtremeSlimer pointed out that Tokyo Comic Con was in full swing and one of the many panels being hosted was one for the new American Godzilla sequel “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” Mike Dougherty was in attendance and among the things he revealed was that a new trailer would be releasing next week, so keep your eyes peeled.
Another thing that Dougherty revealed was our best look at the new monsters via the reveal of their toy figures. King Ghidorah looks as badass as you would expect and doesn’t deviate too much from his original look. Rodan also has his traditional look, but somehow seems creepier with his demonic leathery wings. The one to get the biggest makeover is Mothra. She still looks like a butterfly, but now she’s got some mean looking hooks for arms. She looks like a much more believable threat than ever before.
Check out the tweet below and bathe in the glory of the monsters.
Playing with my old Godzilla Shogun Warrior and the family camcorder is how I got started. Here’s hoping these SH MonsterArts figures will inspire some kid out there to do the same. pic.twitter.com/ArQbWY8iJG
