Mortal Kombat X Announced with First Trailer
After weeks of teasing and hinting that a big announcement was incoming, “Mortal Kombat” co-creator Ed Boon has finally revealed the next installment in the long-standing fighting franchise.
Making the announcement from his Twitter feed, Ed Boon revealed that the new game would be aptly titled “Mortal Kombat X.” After a few more painful minutes of anticipation, he also revealed the announcement trailer which you can view down below. If you’re a Wiz Khalifa fan, you’ll be thrilled to know that the artist has composed an original track for the trailer called “I Can’t Be Stopped.”
So far, the only other information we have to go on is listed in the video description which states that:
Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience
Judging by the trailer, it looks like environmental elements will continue to be a factor, but the game may utilize them in new and interesting ways. In one scene Sub Zero leaps up and grabs on to a branch which he uses to perform a spinning kick. So it would seem that “Mortal Kombat X” will be using some of the new abilities developed in “Injustice” to allow for context sensitive attacks. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
“Mortal Kombat X” is due out in 2015.
